Welcome to ICCCPO's Web Site

The International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations (ICCCPO) is a worldwide network of organisations of parents of children with cancer.

It was founded in May 1994 in Valencia, Spain, and in 2009/10 has membership of 132 organisations from 78 countries.

Our focus is on the cooperation and sharing of information and experiences between parent groups around around the world, so that all can benefit from it and become more effective in improving the treatment and care of children with cancer in their own countries.

To coincide with International Childhood Cancer Day on 15th February 2010, ICCCPO, World Child Cancer, and the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), have issued a joint press statement.

Please see it here.

World Child Cancer

World Child Cancer is an initiative by ICCCPO to be able to provide funding to improve the treatment and care for children with cancer around the world, and especially in less developed countries where access to effective treatment may be very limited or even non-existent.  The organisation was registered in the UK in 2007.

World Child Cancer is a international charity dedicated to improving cancer diagnosis and treatment for some of the world’s poorest children.  The charity facilitates and funds international twinning partnerships between hospitals in resource-rich and resource-poor countries, as well as partnerships between parent support groups.   World Child Cancer is working in Africa, South America and Asia where it is creating new centres of excellence in the treatment of child cancer with the help of voluntary support of some of the world’s leading paediatric oncologists.   Relatively small levels of funding make a dramatic and sustainable difference to survival rates, in part due to the voluntary support of medics which is valued at least three times the value of every Euro, dollar or pound donated.
